Pokemon Bronze Rebirth Elite Four and Champion Guide: Team Strategy and Battle Order

To defeat the Elite Four and Champion in Pokemon Bronze Rebirth, set Sticky Web hazards with Vikavolt, set up stat boosts using Geomancy Xerneas and Dragon Dance Dragonite, and bring Mega Metagross with Kingambit for cleanup against Calyrex and Arceus.

Completing the final gauntlet in Roria requires durable setup sweepers, speed control, and full recovery items between rooms. Saving immediately after entering each new chamber prevents unexpected critical hits from wiping out your progress.

A successful run through the Elite Four and the Champion relies on six specific team slots that handle speed control, offensive setup, and priority cleanup:

  • Vikavolt: Runs Sticky Web, Bug Buzz, and Thunderbolt. Its primary task is laying entry hazards to slow down opposing teams.
  • Xerneas: Runs Geomancy, Moonblast, and Flash Cannon. Xerneas serves as the main special sweeper for multiple battles once boosted.
  • Dragonite: Runs Dragon Dance, Dual Wingbeat, Fire Punch, and Earthquake. Dragonite handles physical setup and can use Tera Flying or Dynamax mechanics.
  • Mega Metagross: Runs Meteor Mash, Psychic Fangs, and Ice Punch. Holding Metagrossite from known Mega Stone locations gives it the raw physical power needed to tear through bulky targets.
  • Kingambit: Runs Iron Head and Sucker Punch. It acts as a defensive pivot and picks off weakened threats with priority.
  • Gengar: Runs Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb. Gengar serves as an offensive switch-in and specialized attacker during technical switch sequences.

Before entering the gauntlet, fine-tuning your roster with EV training and evaluating how to increase IVs helps your leads outpace opposing speed thresholds.

Elite Four Battle Order Strategy

Elite Four Battle 1

Lead with Vikavolt to set Sticky Web, followed by Bug Buzz to chip the opposing lead. Switch to Xerneas, a legendary creature also detailed in guides for the Aura Trio and Zygarde forms. Cast Geomancy on the first turn of entry. After boosting your special stats, alternate between Flash Cannon and Moonblast to sweep the opponent's roster. Even if Xerneas suffers flinches, continuous Flash Cannon casts clear the remaining threats. Heal the entire team and save before stepping into the next room.

Elite Four Battle 2

Place Vikavolt back in the lead position to establish Sticky Web again, firing off Bug Buzz before going down. Bring in Xerneas to execute Geomancy. Clear opposing Pokémon with Moonblast and Flash Cannon. When Xerneas eventually faints, send out Metagross, activate Mega Evolution, and finish off the remaining defenders with successive Psychic Fangs. Restore your party to full health before proceeding.

Elite Four Battle 3

Set Gengar as your starting lead. The opposing trainer routinely switches directly into Magearna on turn one. Swap immediately to Vikavolt to absorb the incoming play and drop Sticky Web onto the field. Allow Vikavolt to faint, then bring out Dragonite. Use Dragon Dance, trigger Tera Flying (or Dynamax if Tera Flying is unavailable), and strike with Dual Wingbeat and Earthquake. Rotate Gengar back in for Shadow Ball pressure, bring Kingambit for an Iron Head strike, and deploy Mega Metagross to close out the battle with Meteor Mash.

Elite Four Battle 4

Return Vikavolt to the lead slot to lay down Sticky Web and attack with Thunderbolt. Once Vikavolt falls, send in Xerneas to use Geomancy. Change Xerneas's Tera type to resist lethal incoming moves, then fire repeated Moonblast attacks to knock out the entire opposing line.

Defeating the Champion

Heal every party member before stepping forward to face the Champion. Lead the encounter with Dragonite and execute Dragon Dance on turn one.

When the Champion swaps to Calyrex, strike immediately with Fire Punch. For incoming threats, use Earthquake or Dual Wingbeat depending on whether Dragonite is operating under Dynamax or an active Tera state.

When the Champion brings out Arceus, transition the offense to Mega Metagross. Attack with Meteor Mash, Ice Punch, and Psychic Fangs. If Metagross falls, send in Kingambit to deliver Sucker Punch and Iron Head priority damage. Finish any remaining opposing HP with Gengar using Sludge Bomb to claim the championship title.
